      John Carnes is called beyond. Resident of Red Wing for Past Ten Years Passes Away at the Red Wing Hospital. John Carnes, 70 years old, a resident of Red Wing for the past ten years, passed away at the Red Wing hospital Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, after a lingering illness. Death was due to a complication of diseases. Mr. Carnes, despite his great suffering, bore his illness without complaining.

      The deceased was born at Watertown, New York, May 6, 1845. He was united in marriage to Agnes Hughes at Hudson, Wis., on Jan. 1, 1873. Surviving the deceased are his wife, three sons, James Carnes of Seattle, Wash., Otis and John Carnes of this city, one daughter, Mrs. John Feldman of Red Wing, and two little grand-daughters, Evelyn and Ethel Feldman, all of whom deeply mourn his loss. He is also survived by a brother, residing at Ogensberg, New York, and a sister, Mrs. William Boyce, of Red Lake Falls, Minn.

      Mr. Carnes formerly lived at Northfield.
