    • Mrs. Charles F. Museus
      Dies At Home In Chetek.

Mrs. Charles Frederick Museus, one of Barron county's well beloved ladies, died at her home in Chetek, early on the morning of Friday, March 9. Mrs. Museus has patiently borne up under failing health for some time past. Shortly after Christmas she sustained a bad fall and fractured her hip bone. After this she was stricken with pneumonia. From this attack she recovered, but her bodily strength was undermined by these demands upon it, and the flame of life slowly dimmed and went out.
The funeral was held Sunday and the entire city of Chetek joined in sorrowing at her departure. The services were conducted by the Rev. Helmer Lund, Norwegian Lutheran pastor, and the Rev. George Holland, Advent Christian pastor. The floral offerings were many and beautiful testifying to the high regard in which she has been held.
Mrs. Museus was a loving and ever helpful wife, and understanding and affectionate mother, a genial and loyal friend.
Alice Johnson was born at Alderly, Dodge county, this state, Feb. 4, 1851, the daughter of Kettle and Elsie Johnson, pioneers of that locality. On April 12, 1869, she was married to Charles Frederick Museus, a veteran of the Civil War. Together they developed a farm in Pierce county. In 1882 they located in Chetek, where they have since continued to reside.
Mrs. Museus leaves besides her husband, five children. Charles H., president of the Cameron State Bank; Hans B., a physician in Eau Claire; Edward F., a dentist in Fargo, North Dakota; Mrs. Ida M. Patchin, a teacher in the Chetek schools; and Mrs. R. M. Post, of Chetek. [Published Friday, March 16, 1923, Barron County News Shield, Barron, Wisconsin.]
