Obituary. Mrs. Hanshaw.
Mrs. Eliza Hanshaw, wife of Sam Hanshaw, died at the Hospital in Rochester, Friday noon of last week. She underwent an operation for the removal of a tumor, 28 gall stones and appendicitis Wednesday, and while she rallied from the effects of the operation, and was conscious up to time of her death, it was apparent to the attending physicians and relatives that she would not recover.
The deceased was 48 years of age, and was born in the town of Gillford. On July 22, 1876 she was married to Mr. Hanshaw. For twelve years they conducted a hotel in Zumbro Falls, and the remainder of their time has been spent in Wabasha County and Lake City. She was of a cheerful and loving disposition and her death will be mourned by all who knew her.
The remains were brought to this city and the funeral was held from the home on Monday at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. C.H. Plummer, officiating, followed by interment in Lakewood cemetery.
The surviving relatives, are her husband, Sam Hanshaw, a daughter, of Sioux City, Iowa, two sons, Jesse and Henry, of this city, two brothers, a sister and a half sister.
