  	Carole Joyce (née Hughes) Ryan August 29, 1937 ~ February 19, 2022 (age 84) Obituary & ServicesTribute Wall Obituary Carole Joyce Ryan (née Hughes) Age 84 of Eagan Beloved wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt, passed peacefully on February 19, 2022. She was preceded in death by Mike Ryan, her loving husband of 53 years who passed away June, 2021; her parents, Charles and Vera (née Vance) Hughes; her brothers Chuck, Gene, Jimmy and her sisters Violet Hughes Purcell, Shirley Mae Hughes, and Judy Hughes Katter. Survived by her daughter, Julie; sister Nancy (Peter) Stancuk; sister-in-law, Leona Hughes; and a host of nieces and nephews and their families. Carole was born and raised in St. Paul. She attended St. Paul Central High School. She had a beautiful singing voice and often starred in her high school musicals. Later on, a chance encounter while walking across a college campus, she was stopped and asked if she had ever modeled. Thus, her part-time modeling career was born. Carole also worked as a receptionist at an insurance firm where she met her husband, Mike. Together they traveled extensively, their favorite destination being Mexico. They also enjoyed hosting lavish dinner parties throughout the years. In her later years, she enjoyed watching game shows, old westerns and the Vikings, tackling word find puzzles, and playing bingo and cribbage. She will be missed and loved forever. Thank you to all who supported her during her illness with special thanks to Darlyne and Jim Lyons, Nancy and Peter Stancuk, Linda Flynn, and Jeanne Scanlan Doyle. Special gratitude to Julie Walsh, who having known the Ryans for years, chose to become Julie Ryan?s legal guardian. There will be a Funeral Mass at Assumption Catholic Church (51 W. 7th Street, St. Paul) on Saturday, March 5 at 11am. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment at Fort Snelling. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Ryan family. Fort Snelling National Cemetery

The marriage license application index for Ramsey County Minnesota, which covers the period from September 1919 to December 1921, lists Walter Hughes and Vera Vance as applying for a marriage license. Regrettably, during the microfilming that took place in the early 1980's, the marriage records for the period 1920 to 1922 were accidentally destroyed. We are not able to provide a marriage record for this couple. Books 102, Page 510 thru 106, Page 599. 1920 - 1922 were destroyed during the microfilming process. We have no record.
